SEEDS Corporate Sponsor (2019) Employees at the Wayne Wire Cloth Products Kalkaska location donated 23 bags of returnable cans and bottles which equalled $176 for the SEEDS program.
Kalkaska Area Recreational Trail Berm (2016, 2017) If you’ve walked the KART trail that encircles the schools, the Kaliseum and County offices, you’ve most likely noticed the flower beds. Many of these are “sponsored” by community businesses and they really add to the beauty of the walk. However, some of these had been abandoned as the business may have changed hands or gone out of business. So in 2017 Wayne Wire adopted one! There are many people who utilize the KART, school sports such as track and football, people walking their dogs, walking with friends and family. The KART is part of the Kalkaska community, and so is Wayne Wire Cloth Products. Our berm is the first berm on the trail after turning onto West Kalkaska Rd. off Dresden Street. Wayne Wire volunteers have weeded, fertilized, weeded, planted, weeded, decorated, and then weeded some more at our adopted berm. It has been transformed with annuals, perennials, a bird bath and a custom decorated chair. When the snow has melted in 2018, we will continue to improve upon its appearance. As you walk the trail, be sure to look for the rock with the custom made WWCPI sign attached to it.

Earthquake Relief (2017) Wayne Wire Air Bag Products volunteers at our Juarez Mexico site organized a donation activity to support those in Mexico City that were impacted by the earthquake. Wayne Wire employees were encouraged to donate any kind of canned food, bottled water, blankets, etc. Our team of volunteers worked with the local Red Cross Chapter in Juarez. All of the goods were delivered to the impacted area.
Toys for Tots/Kids (2017) Wayne Wire Cloth Products in both the Kalkaska and Hillman Michigan locations had a fundraiser/potluck. Everyone was asked to bring in a dish to pass and make a donation. The money raised bought toys to help two different organizations. The Kalkaska location donations went to help the "Toys for Tots", who partnered with KAIR in Kalkaska to help the less fortunate in their area. The Hillman location donations went to help the "Toys for Kids" who partnered with Vietnam Veterans Chapter 583 in Alpena to help the less fortunate in their area. There was a very generous amount raised for both organizations, and Wayne Wire matched the donations that were collected. We are very hopeful that joy was brought to children in our communities.
Los Ojos de Dios (2016) A group of Wayne Wire Air Bag Products volunteers from our Juarez Mexico site teamed up to volunteer at Los Ojos de Dios, a non-profit organization in Juarez that provides care and educational services for handicapped and abandoned children. They spent the Saturday helping with improvements to the facility, aiding the staff, and spreading happiness to the children. It was a very rewarding experience for all those that attended!
